Choose Fun Food For Your Party

Many people agree that party catering is different from every other type of catering because the food is fun.  In fact, it is often the most fun thing about a party.  For that reason, sometimes the most important part of planning for a party is to make sure that the food is a winner.

One good strategy for party catering is to offer a lot of different types of perennial favorites.  You must have chips, soda pop, and cookies.  However, throw in a few different things as well to keep it interesting and make it an adventure to visit the food table.  The best party food shouldn’t interfere with the party or socializing: avoid sticky foods, or food that can color or get stuck in your teeth.  The perfect example of what you would not serve is corn on the cob, because it breaks all those rules.

There’s no need to make the food look fancy – it’s not gourmet food.  But the presentation should be fancy: use brightly colored bowls (they can be the inexpensive party bowls from the dollar store), fun napkins and a table cloth, and balloons.  Make it look like the adult version of a kid’s birthday party.  With this kind of spread, the food will set the tone of the party and let your guests know that you’re ready to blow the roof off!
